Manually populate CI data from excel sheet

Below is the list of two CI classes and their attributes that we will populate manually in our CMDB through an Excel sheet -

1. VMware vCenter Server Object (cmdb_ci_vcenter_server_obj )

Name

IP Address

Serial Number

OS Version

Install Status

Environment

Support Group

Managed By Group

Owned By

Change Group

Approval Group

Location

1. Virtual Machine Instance (cmdb_ci_vm_instance)
Name

IP Address

VMware vCenter Server Object ID serial number

Install Status

Operational Status

Environment

Support Group

Managed By Group

Owned By

Change Group

Approval Group

Location

Now, are these attributes enough for us to populate the two Cis and map the relationship between them? If not, what other attributes do we need from the client?

Hi @Passion_of_SNOW

Just  check those two table -> If any mandatory  fields are there (it could be customized to make fields mandatory as per your business requirement) ,

ensure you have included those into your excel to be mapped properly.

Hi @Passion_of_SNOW

What is your plan to govern this data after you import from Excel? Why are you importing from Excel and not directly from a data source?

If my answer has helped with your question, please mark my answer as the accepted solution and give a thumbs up.

Best regards
