serial number for silver peak devices

Hi All,

Has anyone discovered Silver Peak  router devices. if yes, could you please let me know if you were able to discover Serial Number for those devices and how?

I am able to discover these devices by adding SNMP OID classification, but Serial Number is missing when I run discovery.

Thanks,

Bubuprasad

While you will need to probably add the SysObjectID to our System OID table (this comes from the SNMP - Classify INPUT record on the ECC Queue), you'll probably also need a private MIB that contains the OID of the Serial Number.  Unless it answers serial number from mib-2.

I would start here https://www.silver-peak.com/documentation/mibs-60

Hi,

I would recommend you to read carefully the thread discussion below, it will give you the idea:

CI Identifiers - Hardware rule match on Serial Numbers

If I have answered your question, please mark my response as correct so that others with the same question in the future can find it quickly and that it gets removed from the Unanswered list.

Thank you

For those trying to get this to work, i was able to load the serial number.

This assumes you want your Silver Peaks to go in as regular routers. Be sure to watch the video as well.

0. Ensure the 4 MIBs for SilverPeak are loaded, MID servers restarted, and compiled correctly.

1. Add a "Silver Peak" extension to the "Network Router" discovery pattern.

2. From the extension, add a rule to get the serial number
- You should be able to browse and find the Silver Peak MGMT Mib if everything loaded correctly, or just load it directly.

3. Add a step to assign it back to the router propertyfind_real_file.png

 4. Synchronize the pattern with the mid servers

5. Run discovery and you should be all set!

Tested from Quebec, good luck!

@Eric142 Did you have to add any other steps for manufacturer and model? Mine are not currently populating.
This worked perfect for the SN though.
