Service account for Servers(Windows/Linux/ESX/Solaris) for Discovery

Hi all,

The prerequisite for ServiceNow discovery is network connectivity (open firewall ports like 22, 135, 443, 5985). We have 50 Servers (Windows/Linux/Solaris) for auto discovery and requested firewall/network team to open the ports (135/22). Do we need to create the service accounts as well?

Hey,

The service accounts are needed for authentification to discover the device itself. The port opening is needed to reach those devices. So depending on your authentification method you will need those service accounts.

 

TL:DR: Yes (most likely).
