I am working through a large Service Mapping experiment in my organization and we have several layers of complexity that have made Service Mapping initiatives in the past rather difficult. We are at a better spot in terms of maturity to take another stab at it and I wanted to gain some insights into Tag-Based Service Mapping.
We have succeeded with a handful of apps architected in the cloud (AWS) with consistent tag standards (i.e., app name and environment) on each resource hosted. However, our cloud team is proposing changes to our tagging mechanisms and would like to enable Account Level Tagging. With lack of knowledge on technical details, I am curious if this is possible.
- Has anyone experienced this before and are you aware of how that would affect the Tag-Based Service Mapping method in ServiceNow?
- Do Account Level tags trickle down to each individual resource?
- If various applications are hosted in the same account, does that alter how we think about Account Level Tags?
