Service Mapping - Multiple Entry Points for an application service

In what cases it's recommended to have multiple entry points for a business application?  Any advantages or disadvantages of defining multiple entry points?

Thanks in advance for your feedback.

Hello @Kannickal

From previous experience, the choice about whether you configure multiple entry points should be done based on the nature of the application you're mapping; if it naturally has multiple entry points (i.e., IP addresses & URLs) then I would suggest entering them all to ensure you have a complete picture of what you're mapping.

Thanks James for the reply.

So if there are multiple entry points for an application service, when a user invoke the service, which entry point gets executed? Is there a default entry point in this case?

Thanks again for your feedback in adv.

The default entry point for an application will depend on how the application is constructed & used by the end user; A user could access an application via a Mobile Application when they are walking around on their lunch break, or a desktop browser when sitting at their desk.

Not all services will have single entry point. Their will be always a case where in you will find multiple management servers. All you need is what all needed to make this service work. It does not matter if has more then one entry point.

Sometime SME do not understand the process also, you need to keep helping them to understand it.
