Software Installations - "Last Used" Field

Looking at a Computer CI, and looking at the Software Installations tab under that CI, and the "Last Used" field is empty.

Expecting to see a date displayed here representing the last date that piece of software was used on that computer.   The thought is to use this Last Used date for measuring the actual utilization across software applications on a specific computer.

Is this what the "Last Used" field is for, and why would it be empty?

That is exactly what the field is for, but to populate that value, the tool you are using to capture your software installations, whether ServiceNow Discovery, Microsoft's SCCM, Altiris, HP Client Automation... the tool needs to capture this value, which (if I remember correctly) is a value maintained in the registry and does not require an agent based tool to capture. If the data you are brining in does not include this value, you will not see it in ServiceNow.

Thanks. Does HTHD tool capture this? We use HTHD.

I'm not sure. I would need to check. If you are using it and not seeing it, though, it is probably a sign that it does not...

Ken, I used to be a Windows Registry wiz, but I am very rusty. I tried to find where this information might be maintained in the registry, but without success. I also ran HTHD on a system and did not see this information get populated, so I do not think it captures this information.
