Hi Everyone,
We are planning to implement Database Discovery in our environment. We have already implemented.
- Windows Discovery
The next phase is Database Discovery.
Databases in Scope
- Microsoft SQL Server
- Oracle Database
- PostgreSQL
- Azure SQL Database
Authentication Options Under Consideration
Option 1 – Existing Windows Service Account
Use the existing Windows Discovery service account and grant the required database-level permissions.
Option 2 – Dedicated Database Discovery Account
Create a dedicated database discovery account (username/password) with read-only permissions specifically for ServiceNow Database Discovery.
1. Prerequisites
For each database type (MS SQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, Azure SQL):
- Required MID Server version/configuration
- Network and firewall requirements
- Supported authentication methods
- Port requirements
Any documentation, implementation guides, KB articles, or real-world recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance.
