Task: Create iTunes Discovery Pattern (Part 1) missing process classifier

I am working on this task in the Discovery Fundamentals On Demand - Vancouver course. I created a discovery pattern as directed and the next step says, "Update iTunes Process Classifier". Looking at the discovery_classy_proc table, I do not see a record for "iTunes", so I created one:

Does this look correct? When I run discovery against the specified IP address, it fails to include "Pattern Launcher: iTunes" in the ECC Queue tab of the discovery status record:

Hello,

In this case once the Pattern is created, you need to go and update the Process Classifier which you might have created in the earlier/previous task.

In one of the earlier tasks during the course you would have created the iTunes Process Classifier. Once the pattern is updated as mentioned above, open this classifier, scroll to the bottom where you would find "Triggers probes" tab. In that tab, you need to create new and add the above-mentioned probe and pattern.

Once you do that and then run the discovery it should be successful.

to my mind this instruction is incomplete .. some information is missing, since the pattern is not starting

As the Cloud Dimensions Discovery administrator, you are tasked with creating a Discovery pattern for the iTunes application and associating the pattern to the iTunes process classifier created in the previous task.

Create a Discovery Pattern using the following:

  • Pattern Type: Application
  • Name: iTunes
  • CI Type: Application [cmdb_ci_appl]
  • Enforce Process Classification: true
  • Identification Section:
    • Name: iTunes Identification Section
    • Entry Point Type: TCP Endpoint, HTTP(S) Endpoint
    • Find Process Strategy:Listening Port
    • Order: 1

Update iTunes Process Classifier:

  • Triggers probes related list
    • Name: HorizontalDiscoveryProbe-Horizontal Pattern
    • Probe: Horizontal Pattern
    • Pattern: iTunes"

Let me know if you are available, we can get on a call and fix it. Please DM me with a meeting link.

I am also facing an issue with this task. However, in my case the iTunes patter in getting launched fine but when I try to validate the Task, it says Failed "Did you verify that the created pattern is referenced in the ECC Queue in both Input and Output reco...".

Not sure what am I missing. Can somebody please help as it is not allowing me to complete the course!!

Thank you for the help!!

Please share some some screenshots of your classifier conditions and ECC queue & Discovery Log.
