Unable to discover SNMP Devices(Active, Could't classify)

Hello Everyone,

Today I noticed a very weird issue when running discovery for SNMP devices.
A) SNMP credentials are validated
B) Firewall opened
C) Open 161 is opened
Now the issue here is I can see SNMP classified properly but rather than going to identification, it is again running classification for Unix and Http as attached and ended up with Active, Couldn't classify error. Could you please assist me with what might be the issue?

Thanks,

Sudhakar

Hi,

We usually have a SSH credentials try first and then SNMP as per order. And If the port 22 is open then it might try SSH as well. But after SNMP classification the device is not getting classified because of OID might not be there in classification criteria.

So check SNMP Classification criteria first.

Thanks,
Ashutosh

Hello,

I am facing same issue.

Can you please guide, which exact OID need to add & where to add.

I am having cisco switch.

Thanks !

@Community Alums  open the discovery status and go to ecc queue for that IP address.

It will show like below .

Open SNMP classify OID Input and check what is OID for your device like below

then come to system SNMP OIDs and check your OID is listed there or not.

if it's not there then add your OID and classifier based your device and run discovery again.

I will check for it.

Hello Sudhakara,

Could you please provide some more information?
What did you add & where did you validate the SNMP OID?

I am facing the same issue. My Status is "Active, couldn't classify" & SNMP input name is "SNMP - Classify 6 OIDs"

What should I need to take next action? Kindly help
