Where can I find CMDB Data Dictionary/Field Definitions?

I'm looking for some definitions for the out-of-box (OOB) fields in the CMDB (cmdb_ci table). For example, what is the purpose or suggested use of the "supported_by" field?

The purpose for some of the fields seem obvious based on their label.  But some are not so obvious to me.  For example, what is the difference between support_group vs assignment_group?

From the information that I've found (like this thread), I am getting the impression that the answer seems to be: "use the fields as you see fit."  I understand that each ServiceNow customer should use the system according to their business needs, but I am still curious to understand what ServiceNow had in mind when they created these fields.

The purpose/definition of these fields becomes even more important if there are OOB Client Scripts, Business Rules, etc that assume a particular use of the field.

I second this thread.  I am surprised that there is no pdf that has a data dictionary for OOB tables and fields in Service Now.  I cant tell you how many times Ive been asked for a document and the stakeholders look to me to magically produce a thorough document from scratch.
