Hello, the question I have is:
Can you run ad-hoc discovery (or 'discover now' option) on a single IP address?
Does the IP address to be scanned need to be included in a previously defined range of IPs?
Example:
You create a new VM whose IP is OUTSIDE of the range you have set for the weekly scan (see assumptions below)
Assumptions:
- You have discovery installed and running properly (all sensors and probes are there, etc)
- You have a discovery schedule to run a weekly scan on a given IP address range
Question:
If you run Discover now on the newly created VM, will Discovery find it and create the CI record automatically even though it's outside of the IP range?
thanks!

Yes - single IP or a range of IPs that fall outside of any discovery schedules you have setup. No need to duplicate IPs when running discovery.
Create a quick IP range for a Discovery schedule
