AI Search search results inadequate

Hello together

Our portal search is often completely invalidated by a "-" and no longer delivers any results.

Example: "Email" instead of "E-Mail" only returns 1/27 of the possible catalog items.

Creating a synonym (E-mail --> ["mail", "email"] & email --> Email ["e-mail", "mail"]) in the search profile has also not led to any improvement.

I would be very grateful if someone could give me some advice on this.
