Hello,
I am trying to figure out how to allow someone else other than the CAB manager to approve/reject changes in the CAB workbench portal. The user does NOT need to host the meeting. But should have the approve/reject button the cab manager has. Is there any configuration or customization I can do to make this happen. Does anyone have any idea on this ?
Thank You,
Somdev Nath

Hi,
The docs state that if you're an approver of the agenda item, the action buttons will show. CAB meeting - using the workbench. Changes that need to go to cab have an approval group added as part of our normal change workflow called 'CAB Approval' which all cab manager(s) and delegates are a member of. This allows any CAB authorised user to approve within the workbench.

Hi Kieran,
Could you help me understand what is meant by "approver of the agenda item". Will it consider users who already approved or is it meaning any user who's approvals are pending for that agenda item will have the action buttons ? Appreciate the help.
Thank You,
Somdev Nath

Hey Somdev,
The buttons are set to show for any users who's approval is in the 'requested' state. So if all your CAB approvers belong to a specific approval group, they'll see the action buttons

Good Morning,
To be honest this feels like a bit of an oversight on their part, if the CAB Manager is not available, then the Delegate field inside the CAB Definitions should come into play and allow them to approve on the CAB Manager behalf who has the 'requested' state on the sysapproval_approver table. Right now, all the Delegate can do is Host the meeting and every time they want to move onto the next ticket they get a warning "This is not approved, are you sure you want to move on".
I don't want to add the Delegates to the approval group inside the workflow as it could be days before the meeting takes place and they will get unnecessary daily reminders to approve the ticket even if the CAB Manager will be running that week.
Think I will log an enhancement request with SNow.
Kind Regards
Ashley
