Approval Widget - Role Restrictions ?

Hi all.

Could someone please let me know if adding the Approval Widget on the Portal requires an ITIL licence to be given to specific users to be able to approve items from the portal.

I am looking to provide this functionality to all end users (or mainly managers/ approval group members) that are not part of ITIL role. I was previously led to believe providing that for anyone to be able to approve/reject via the portal they need a paid licence ? Can someone point me into whats correct ?

I have found that this type of licence is a paid sub, but is this the right one to be used with Portal widget approvals ?

Thank you.

Hi MrMk,

In this situation we can differentiate two funcionalitys:
- Approver and Requester User: Users that can approve/reject and only have visibility on their own tickets, these users have a restricted functionality compared to fullfillers but their license it's cheaper.

-Fullfillers: Users than can edit/review tickets. Typically it's associated to ITIL role and has more rights than the approver one.

In this case, if you assigned this approver role for a small group they'll able to approve/reject tickets and add comments, nothing else. You'll need to pay a small license fee compared if you grant ITIL role for that small groups, but your requirement will achieved and will be able to approve/reject tickets from widget in portal.

Hi @MrMK

Yes, approve_user role is required to approve any request and approval widget will be visible to users with that role.

Please mark my answer helpful if this resolves the issue
