ATF creation for catalog item

I am creating AFT for one the catalog item. So, I need to Validate catalog variables. 

Use Case: When I select request type is something then only should show fields related to that. Remaining all should be hidden. 

Foe this I am using Variable state validation test step. But here I could see only variables related to that Catalog item. But not able to see variable from variable sets which are tagged to that catalog item. 

So, how we can validate variable set variables as well?
