Author not able to edit knowledge article in draft state

Hi,

Author is unable to edit a knowledge article with the state Draft. All fields are readonly for that particular author.

This is happening for  a single knowledge article and other authors are able to edit their respective knowledge articles (KB0010234). I have compared the roles and looks same like other authors.

Can you please guide me if I am missing anything to compare?

Hi Priyanka

Are you using ownership groups?

Also check for versions, if someone else has the article checked out for edit this may give you an issue.

Also in the list view add the article id field and check if the article has a sys id in this field.

Is your instance domain separated? I have seen issues when there is a version in a different domain to the user trying to do the edit.

You can sometime get issues if someone has tried to import an article from a sub prod etc.

Sorry for being so general but it is not simple for me to diagnose without being able to see etc.

Hi,

I would like to add role change to Author of KB article . so that he /she should be able to change the status of an article from "pending retirement" to "published" or "retired", Is it possible ?

Which role should it be ?

Hi @New Developer_S ,

According to the Ownership groups product documentation, when a knowledge article is assigned to an ownership group, only ownership group members have contribute access to the article even if they don't have contribute access to the knowledge base of the article. They can edit, approve, publish, and retire the knowledge article with which they are associated. If an ownership group is associated with a knowledge article, the author or reviser of the article can't contribute to the article after the article is published.

In Now Platform Paris, the glide.knowman.ownership_group.override system property introduced to override this expected behavior. An administrator can do so by enabling the glide.knowman.ownership_group.override property.

In order to resolve the issue, you can either add the user into the selected ownership group, remove the ownership group from the Knowledge Article, or change the ownership group to one which user already belongs.

If I could help you with your Query then, please hit the Thumb Icon and mark it as Correct !!
