We are starting to use our Asset mgmt. module and I would like to import an initial dump of 600 assets (laptops & printers).
I will be doing an import however I think it may have to be done as 2 separate imports. I noticed the Hardware Assets form (alm_hardware) has a few fields that are on the hardware Models table (cmdb_hardware_product_model).
What's the best approach to perform an import of Assets from Dell:
Should do a 1st import to the Hardware Model table (alm_hardware) then perform a 2nd import to the Asset table (cmdb_hardware_product_model)
The spreadsheet from Dell has the following columns which spans both tables
- Service Tag
- Asset Tag
- Model Category
- Name
- Company
- PO Number
- Shipped Date
- Warranty End Date
- Project ID
- Part Number
- Manufacturer
