Can we store Archive CIs permanently in Archive tables?

Hi

Is there any default time the archived CIs will be available in Archive tables? If yes, what is the default time they will remain in the instance?

If we haven't created any destroy rule, then the Archived CIs will be stored permanently in Archived tables?

Many thanks in advance.

Hi @Pavithra16 ,

Why would you store Archived data permanently? As for archived CIs from archive tables, after the specified number of days pass, archived CIs should be permanently deleted from the archive tables .

Pavithra - per the Data Manager Settings in CMDB Workspace, Out of the box archived CIs are set to be deleted 120 days after they are initially archived (this is displaying the system property "glide.cmdb.data_manager.default_archive_time").  There is no clear guidance in the CMDB data manager or the archiving documentation as to "how long" they should be archived or what is "too long" - presumably you can archive for years before deleting.

Q) What role is required to be able to modify/change the Data Manager settings?
