CIS-ITSM On-Demand training and support documentation

I have a question regarding the on-demand training for the CIS-ITSM certification.

I’m finding the current on-demand course challenging for a few reasons:

  1. The course structure is difficult to follow, as the menu primarily serves as a progress tracker rather than a true navigation tool.
  2. The video format makes it hard to review specific topics or jump to particular sections when needed.
  3. There is no ability to highlight or annotate content, which makes it harder to retain key information.

When I previously completed the CSA on-demand course, I recall having access to a book, which made studying much easier. I do have experience working in ITSM for a few years.

Could someone please let me know if there is a book or any additional study material available for CIS-ITSM that I can purchase or use to better learn the topics?

Also, if you have any other suggestion to complete the training easier/faster.

Hi @Ravi54

ServiceNow has stopped issuing certificate books for many courses, including ITSM. If you still need more clarity, please log a case with ServiceNow Now Learning.

Hi @Ravi54 ,

I can understand the pain point because the same I was facing during CIS- Data Foundation.

I will suggest , Besides the Reading pane   try with different view like theater mode/ Full screen etc. Also There is a place to take the note ( Copy / write the important note there.)  , take a bookmark.

This view is with navigation pane // for me reading pane is very small , just for navigation ( to move to next module) use this:

Theater view: This pane is good for reading but best is next one which is full screen

So as early as you will be used to use this view, that would be good for your learning.

Good luck !

Hey @Ravi54 ,

I found a hack that may help solve your issue.

As rightly mentioned by @Dr Atul G- LNG, Servicenow University has stopped providing ebook for some new versions of On-demand courses including CIS-ITSM (Zurich), as shown here:

ITSM Fundamentals (Zurich) -> ebook not available

ITSM-Zurich-nobook.jpg

But while exploring this, I found that ebook is still being provided for some course versions, as shown here:

ITSM Fundamentals (Xanadu) -> ebook still available

ITSM-Xanadu-ebook.jpg

So You can enroll for ITSM-Xanadu course (duration 9h40m) that still provides ebook access,

and not the ITSM-Zurich course (duration 4h24m), that provides no ebook access.

ITSM-Xanadu-course.jpg

Just some important things to consider here:

1. imho, Servicenow official courses, simulators, PDI and other learning content is more than enough for proper learning, whereas you can frequently reachout the community for additional learning discussions, and also  refer external resources on youtube etc. (with caveat of inaccurate, incomplete or outdated content).

2. It is always recommended to learn from Servicenow official courses for latest version/ release, but considering your specific interest in Bookstyle learning, so going for ITSM-Xanadu course makes sense.

Heads up, this ITSM-Xanadu course is retiring on 1May2026, and roughly one month is available to complete this course from today, as shown here:

I think you can manage this mountain climb, just keep hitting the next basecamp everyday.

Thank you,

Happy Learning!
