CMDB Data Testing

Hi All,

Our client want to test the CMDB of Service-Now so can anyone suggest any   wayout.

Configuration :

Client already had SCCM in IT environment therefore did not purchase the Service-Now Discovery. Now client want to test CMDB data against SQL database ( SCCM).

We got the data in excel from   SCCM team but only issues the there are thousands of record in CMDB and it's not feasible to test manually.

If anyone can suggest to way out, it will be highly appreciated.

What do you mean by "test" the CMDB?

What I would do, and what we do in one of our home-made "discovery" CMDB areas, is integrate (through a MID Server) with a vCenter database. This allows us to pull the data straight out of vCenter. I would assume if you can create this sort of linkage yourself, the need to "test" things out because no longer necessary since you are pulling from the source, and instead you are just testing out your logic (such as coalesce fields, etc.). You can perform a similar integration with SCCM (and SN might already have a plugin for it).

Our client want to test the data on following parameters.

1.   Is every field is being updated properly ?.

2. data import is working accurately.

3. Assets are   attached with users.

We have completed CMDB phase-1 completed successfully with Each field updated properly, Imported data successfully and assets are attached for users also. Go Live is completed and we are in warranty support phase. Please let me know if you need any details I can help you out here
