Create a child incident via a button/link on portal widget

Good Afternoon,
We have had a request from our Incident Mgmt team to help them make some of there elements work smarter and with more ease of use (the usual requirements).

One such ask was linked to a self-service portal widget we have to display ongoing major incidents.

The ask was, can a button or link be added that would allow a user to trigger the creation of a child incident linked to the afore-mentioned major incident via a single click to effectively say - this impacts me too!!

Has anyone implemented anything similar or able to offer a workable solution???
All suggestions welcome

Did you ever figure this out as we also need something like this. I am told it is possible but just cannot find how ??

Hi MB14,
I am due to meet with our account team and potentially the product management team at ServiceNow as i believe they are interested in making this content native.

My understanding is that a re-working of the 'current status' widget can achieve the ask (i am currently working on this separately) but fingers crossed it will be included in a future release.
If i land on a solution that works i will post it here

Also very interested in this thread. Coming back to SN after several years away. Curious to know @Steve Chapman if this went anywhere. Used something similar at a previous organization but very much something that we want to look at for my current organization. Any pointers greatly appreciated.
