different application scope in variable set

Hi @all

I have a requirement where 

I want to remove one variable set from 2 catalog items where 

variable set is in one scope and 2 catalog items are in 2 different application scope.

do tell me what best practice is to remove variable set from catalog item in above scenario..

The association between those 2 is stored in other table (io_set_item)

Steps

1) open each catalog item

2) open variable set related list

3) click Edit and remove

OR

1) go to io_set_item.LIST

2) search your records

3) check the application scope

4) ensure you select the update set for that app scope

5) then delete those records

yes i went on creating update set for each scope catalog item is in .. it worked
