Hello Forum,
I am evaluating the potential of Test Management 2.0 within Service Now and was wondering if the module is covering the following bullet points:
- Manual test steps: expected result, multi-line step descriptions
- Test plans and test cases: add user-defined fields for metadata (stakeholder, test system, project ID, link to demands, etc.)
- Creation of error tickets from failed tests, link test execution ß> ticket
- Import of test plans and cases from Excel/CSV
- Export of test execution results to Excel/CSV
- Connection of external tools such as Tosca
- Generation of configurable test reports as PDF/WORD
- Bulk assignment of tests to be executed to testers/roles
kind regards

Manual test steps: expected result, multi-line step descriptions
- Supported: Test Management 2.0 allows detailed test case management, including the ability to define manual test steps and expected results, with support for multi-line descriptions in steps.
Test plans and test cases: add user-defined fields for metadata (stakeholder, test system, project ID, link to demands, etc.)
- Supported: ServiceNow provides the flexibility to customize fields, including adding user-defined fields to capture metadata specific to test plans and test cases.
Creation of error tickets from failed tests, link test execution > ticket
- Supported: Test Management 2.0 allows the creation of incidents or problem tickets directly from failed test cases, linking the execution to the corresponding ticket.
Import of test plans and cases from Excel/CSV
- Partially Supported: Import functionality exists, but it may require additional configuration or customization depending on the format and structure of your Excel/CSV files.
Export of test execution results to Excel/CSV
- Supported: You can export test execution results to Excel or CSV from the platform.
Connection of external tools such as Tosca
- Partially Supported: Integration with external tools like Tosca might be possible through APIs and custom integrations, but this would require some configuration and possibly the use of the Integration Hub.
Generation of configurable test reports as PDF/WORD
- Supported: Configurable reports can be generated, and ServiceNow supports exporting reports to PDF. Exporting directly to Word may require additional customization or third-party tools.
Bulk assignment of tests to be executed to testers/roles
- Supported: You can bulk assign test cases to testers or roles, streamlining the assignment process across multiple tests.
