display value showing empty but display value is filled

While opening category field it is adding url with sysparm_refkey=sys_id. This happening only when we click on preview icon

What is the real value of the Category field, when you look in the XML or use SN Utils to view the field content. Is it a valid existing sys_id? Or a non-existing sys_id?
