Duration / Downtime field type advice and how duration fields works in terms of UI policies

Hi guys, on our CHG form we currently ask a yes/no question if there is to be 'Downtime?' - we want to change this so rather than asking yes/no, we ask 'Duration of downtime'?

What is the best way (field type) to force consistency of answers. Ideally we'd like them to specify in quarter/hundred intervals so 01.25 would be 1hr 15mins.

Logically I guess the 'Duration' field type makes most sense but I'm not familiar with this and when trying it am struggling to get a UI policy to work so that e.g. if the Downtime duration is anything other than 00:00:00:00 or >0 another field 'Downtime details' shows?

Any advice much appreciated. Thanks,
DS

Interesting, as per my screenshot I don't have the 'Attributes' field you describe in my 'Default' or 'Advanced' views of the form BUT if I select 'Legacy' view I can see it - this view is a new one on me. We are running Istanbul Patch 10c btw.

Hey, you are still looking at a field of type reference.

Take a look at the top light blue message: "The Reference field specifies what table this field displays values from", if your field type was "Duration" this would not show up.

Hi, nope unfortunately the Type is definitely 'Duration' - although as mentioned in order to see the form like you seem to, I need to change from 'Advanced' view to 'Legacy' view - a view name I wasn't even aware of before this issue.

That sure is odd, there is definitely something weird there then, you could call HI for support or if you like, let me know if you would like to set up a screen share for me to take a look at.
