Has anyone integrated NetBox with ServiceNow as a method to help populate your CMDB

Hello,

Our network team uses an open source application called NetBox to help document the network infrastructure. We are looking at possibly integrating this with ServiceNow to help populate our CMDB. I was curious if anyone has been successful in doing so and if so, could you share some insights as to how it is working for you.

This is the first time I have come to the Community and typed a word in the search and got ZERO results, so I'm thinking that this may not be that common of an application for people.

We are still in the process, but basically we are having to do a REST call to NetBox to pull the information we want and then setup transforms to get the data into the right tables. I am working with our implementation specialist on this tomorrow, so I may have more info to share then.

Hi @Damhoej

We are building it from scratch. First we had to setup REST messages to call the NetBox API to gather all of the information we want. Then build staging tables, transform maps, script includes and more to get it into the CMDB. We had to engage with our implementation partner, as we didn't have the skills in-house to do this ourselves.

I wonder if anyone has asked in the NetBox community about building an app to assist with this. It would be a great benefit for them to do so.
