Hide a catalog item which is part of an order guide

Dear Experts,

We want to build an order guide combining 3 catalog items. However, we do not want the users to access these catalog items independently/directly but only through the order guides.

If we add user criteria/entitlement to these catalog items will we be able to achieve this?

Can you please recommend a solution on how to achieve this? We are on London.

Through Order Guide means what do you want to say? Independently it should not be available or should be available?

Creating a user criteria to hide the item will also hide the item in the order guide.  There is a flag on the catalog item named "Visible Elsewhere".  Set the flag to false to hide the item from the catalog but still be able to access it in the order guide.

I tried this on my personal dev. instance but is not working. Please see the screenshot attached. I have unchecked Visible Elsewhere and Visible on Bundles and set Visible on Guides set to true.

Am I required to do any other changes?

Do not use User Criteria or Entitlements.  The simple trick is to NOT set the Catalogs and Categories for the individual items.  Leave them empty and they cannot be found in the catalog, because, well, they are not IN a catalog.
