How are Audio Visual assets being entered into Service Now for tracking

We are trying to determine how to enter Audio Visual assets into Service Now

The CMDB has a lot of OOTB classes that you might be able to fit those items into. If none of them meet you needs you can simply create you own class or extend an existing one, which sounds like your best bet. Perhaps Software would be a good place to extend from. 

To get the actual assets into ServiceNow you can do integrations into systems where the assets are already uploaded into or you can do uploads with spreadsheets. I've had success with a couple of different methods of uploading spreadsheets that include via manual upload, email, and service request.

Videoconferencing and Crestron products have their own software, AV is kind of a different animal. I have done two multimillion dollar ServiceNow Global AV audits .....and it is a lot of work. I like to start with Crestron the heart of the control system, and then align assets by usage....take advantage of the fact that you can structure the ITSM to differentiate between equipment failure and user error... this is important because you AV gets touched more than your data center. Let ne know if you want to dive deeper into this....I'd be happy to share what I have done. Both SNAV (ServiceNow AV ) projects resulted in massive cultural changes.

We use Communication class; as AV is communication vehicles in my opinion.  Projectors, Crestron devices, TVs, etc.

The other question I have about Audio Visual Equipment is are you doing pieces separately or by room (complete system)
