I have identified a very generic Service Item that is being used in place of better targeted services, I wish to disable / deactivate/ hide but not just delete as this could orphan the currently logged tickets(I think?)
Is there a way to hide this service from the help desk to prevent its future use?

This is not a Service Catalog item but what is configured as a Service Portfolio item there is no active field visible whether this is due to permissions I'm not 100% sure.
The status options available are below
What would be the best selection to hide from the help desk I cannot experiment here and orphan the existing tickets logged to the no longer required service item (in dev instance known as Business service).
Anyone? Thanks in advance!

Hello Philhubbard,
You can just deactivate form the related links section, if you don't have a related link then please go ahead and configure.

Hi philhubbard,
It would be very helpful to know what table this item definition is on.
Some plugins will allow you to show different things on the Catalogs, and this might be one of them.
Is this the business service, service offering, or some other table? There are many different tables and child tables that can be at use here.
If you do not have this info, please let us know a step by step on how you reach this screen/form for this item.
