How long can we delegate the user to other person

Hi Community,

For how long can we delegate a user to another person in ServiceNow?
 
This is for approval of Business Service Owner in change request

do you mean the OOTB Delegation? There is a period with start/end date.

Delegation Timing:

Delegation can be provided based on business needs. The duration can vary from days to years depending on the situation. In my current work with clients, delegation can be granted for a maximum of 365 days.

For changes, delegation can typically be reviewed every 6 months, after which it should be assessed to determine if any updates or adjustments are required to align with standard procedures.

Go to sys_user_delegate table and you can configure as per your requirement

In ServiceNow, you can delegate tasks and approvals for any specific duration, from a few hours to years, by setting Start and End dates on the delegation record. There isn't a universal time limit.
