How many knowledge bases is too many?

Does anyone have any advice on whether it is better to keep the number of knowledge bases to a minimum and put different types of knowledge in the same knowledge base or have several knowledge bases?  Thanks.

Hi @SuzyH_ I Think there's no hard limit on the number of knowledge bases you can create, but having too many can lead to a few potential issues like Management Complexity, user Experience. Ultimately, the "right" number depends on your organization's needs and structure.

Hi @SuzyH_

It depends on the need, some time 2 bases are also too much and sometimes 10nalso looks good.

Knowledge base are 1st criteria to differnate the article.

More bases will bring more maintenance,  more workfliw, more group and more criteria.

So it depends on needs. As per my experience 3 to 5 bases are good to go.

Hello @SuzyH_ ,

for your confusion "on whether it is better to keep the number of knowledge bases to a minimum and put different types of knowledge in the same knowledge base or have several knowledge bases?"  this things is totally depends on the current requirements, user needs and groups because differentiation in different topics are suitable and maintain better search results but increases knowledge bases and ultimately increases maintenance on it.  So, according to me, to decide "how many knowledge bases we need to create?" is totally depends on current needs and availabilities.

Please accept my solution if it works for you and thumps up to mark it as helpful.
Thank you!!
