How to determine location based on IP

Hi Team,

I would like to determine a user's location based on IP Address without using any third party tool or API.

Please let me know if there is a way.

Hey Brad,



Yes currently we are giving users the option to change it as well in case if the auto detection is incorrect.



This is a new requirement so I was just exploring options within ServiceNow and also I didn't want to share our users location/IP address with external service providers.

I believe that AD hierarchy can fetch you maximum location data and it is used by most of the organisations for pulling up site information. The next bet would be subnet assignments in the organisation and I believe DNS team usually keeps track of that.
