How to display uploaded attachments in Work Notes in the Activity Stream

Hi,

I have a requirement where users upload attachments using the paperclip (Attachments) option on a Task record.

Currently, when an attachment is uploaded, the Activity Stream displays "Image uploaded", and the file is attached to the record(OOB).

I want the uploaded attachment to appear inside the Work Notes of the Task record in the Activity Stream.

Expected behavior:

• User uploads an attachment using the paperclip.
• The uploaded attachment should be displayed in the Work Notes section of the Task record, so users can view the attachment directly from the Work Notes activity.

Has anyone implemented a similar requirement? Is there an out-of-the-box approach to display uploaded attachments in Work Notes?

Any suggestions or best practices would be appreciated.

Hello @mania ,

Generally, Work notes are intended for the internal IT team, while users should provide their input in the Additional Comments section. Using work notes for end user is not recommended.

I understand that Work Notes are intended for internal users, and in our case, the attachment is being uploaded by an internal user (not an end user).

Our requirement is to have the uploaded attachment appear in the Work Notes activity in the Activity Stream. This is for internal tracking purposes and to ensure the attachment is visible as part of the Work Notes history.

Is there an out-of-the-box way to achieve this, or would it require customization?

I just now uploaded file from attachment icon in SOW and it showed in activity stream

The thing you are referring is native side feature and won't work in same way in SOW
