How to edit work notes

Is there an easy way to edit a work note? I saw some of the posts from 5 years ago, but I was wondering if it had gotten an easier. Such as maybe a plugin? Or is it possible in the next release or two? We're currently on Jakarta.

Can you elaborate more? All ITIL users can edit work notes.

If I type something in work notes and post it and then realize that I typed the wrong phone number in, etc - how can I go back and edit the work note, to correct the phone number, etc ? I can't just click in work notes because not it is read only field.

I found this, but I was hoping that there might be just an 'edit' button that could be used or something along those lines.

Ok. That's an interesting requirement.

But I think this could bring more risk to the incident management process. Because every user can then change their notes and change information to what they posted earlier. I think only admin should have this rights. And admin can go to the audit tables and change it.
