How to ignore mandatory fields when the item is included as pae

Hi experts,

I have a small use case, but struck up with this and could not proceed. Any suggestions and recommendations are welcome.

I have a order guide and there is a rule base, like based on a condition order guide will include certain items.

These items have mandatory fields and I want to ignore the mandatory fields in the items, if they are included as part of the order guide only

I have tried below steps, but did not help

1. Property "Validate mandatory fields when switching tabs in 'Choose Options' section of order guides" - unchecked
2. In the rule base, checked "Ignore Mandatory Evaluation"

This will work for you:

To avoid this enforcement of mandatory fields in all order guides:

1. Navigate to Service Catalog > Catalog Policy > Properties.
2. Locate the property Validate mandatory fields when switching tabs in 'Choose Options' section of Order Guides(glide.sc.guide.tab.validate).

3. Clear the Yes check box (as above)

If you make this change, the mandatory fields are still mandatory, but the user can switch between tabs before filling in the mandatory fields. Enforcement is then checked when the user chooses to proceed to the next step.

To avoid enforcement of mandatory fields altogether, use the Ignore Mandatory Evaluation check box within the relevant order guide rule.

Hi Paul,

I have followed both the steps already (as described in my description). Even after that the mandatory fields are enforced

It is that last step that is important if you do not want mandatory fields. Do the following: 

1. Open your Order Guide record

2. Under the Rule Base related list check that for the Catalog Items you do not want to have mandatory fields ensure they have Ignore Mandatory Evaluation unchecked.
