I have a requirement from the client in Workplace Central under Space Planning > Floor Map.
Requirement: As a Workplace Planner, the user should be able to select or hover over multiple rooms on the floor plan view and see the total combined square meter measurement dynamically.
Navigations: Workplace Central > Space Planning > Floor Map > As a Workplace Planner, I need to select or hover over multiple rooms on the floor plan view and see the total combined square meter measurement so that I can quickly calculate total area
- Please provide the Impact of this requirements on future Service Now upgrades.
- Effort estimation.
Objective: This will help planners quickly calculate the total area without manually summing individual room sizes.
Question:
- Is there any out-of-the-box (OOB) functionality available in Workplace Central or Floor Map to achieve this?
- If not, what would be the recommended approach to implement this (UI customization, scripting, or extension)?
- Has anyone implemented similar functionality for multi-room selection and area calculation? Any guidance or best practices would be helpful.
