Is there a limit on how many emails you can send in a time period from ServiceNow?

There was an issue last night that caused a creation of 2000 Incident records, which kicked off 2000 email notifications from ServiceNow to the assignees.... ever since, no other emails being sent from inside of ServiceNow records are being sent.

My email log shows this error:

554 5.2.0 STOREDRV.Submission.Exception:SubmissionQuotaExceededException; Failed to process message due to a permanent exception with message The message can't be submitted because the sender's submission quota was exceeded. SubmissionQuotaExceededException: The message can't be submitted because the sender's submission quota was exceeded. [Hostname=DM6PR17MB2236.namprd17.prod.outlook.com]

Any help would be appreciated!

Hi,

I think that this is more of a Microsoft issue than ServiceNow as you use Microsoft solution to send the mails, Yes? The hostname in the message pointed me to that. You can check this thread on Microsoft.

If my answer helped you in any way, please then mark it as helpful. If this solved your case please mark it as a correct answer. Thank You.

Best regards,
Łukasz

I would check with whoever oversees your email servers and process. It's likely your instance has been flagged as a possible spam source and they are no longer allowing emails to go through.
