Make variable editor Readonly in portals

Hi,

The requirement is to make variable editors read-only in self-service portals (ie on the form page )

As per ServiceNow Documentation making the variable editor read-only in the core UI will not reflect the self-service portal 

Tried implementing the solution mentioned in the KB . The solution doesn't work as expected. Suggest me if there is any workaround/solution

when we try to display RITM record in form page . It will display variable editor also . I want to make that variable editor read only .

Yon need make change in RITM form? 

For the client script for sc_req_item table Variable Editor Readonly , make it as Active True.
