I am sorry this reply is so late, but we are now on Tokyo and the Markdown Knowledge Extension is still working for us.

It is nice to hear that there is an extension for Knowledge. But I would really love to have it in comments and worknotes.

There is a an open idea for this:  Markdown for Case/Task Comments, KB Articles and Community
