Maximum length for Attachment name

Hi, I am trying to figure out what's the maximum length allowed on attachment name.

One of our user tried to attach the .msg (email) file and she received an error for the "too long attachment name"....

Does anyone know about this?

But here  i am facing one problem. Once again I try to change to fille name character size to 100, it is showing error as " Length change not allowed. The field 'File name' on table 'Attachment' contains existing data records (40) that exceed the new length of 100". But in this what can I do?? i need to change the file name character limit to 100.
