I'm having trouble finding information on the purpose/function of the out of box group types (catalog, itil, and survey). 'itil' is just described as 'ITIL based groups' and I'm currently debating on using this group type for all of our assignment groups or creating a new group type of 'assignment' to use for this purpose. The online documentation describes how to create a reference qualifier to limit the assignment group field to only specific group types but don't list anything around any built in functionality that the out of box types may have.
Anyone have any experience or opinions on which way to go here to minimize issues down the line?
For context, we have an instance with a custom type of assignment that seems to work fine but this instance was spun up on Dublin and we're currently relaunching in an as close to OOB as possible Madrid instance.

Hi Daniel,
We recently completed an Assignment Group cleanup project in which we reverted to using the OOB Group Type field instead of custom ones (check boxes) we were using. The follow-up step was that we had to identify all forms that used Group reference field and update the reference qualifier to honor the new approach. I would also add that going forward, all newly created groups need to have a "Type" assigned to them. We created types for Approval, Assignment, IT, Business, and a few other categories to help identify groups.

How has this worked for you and what are all the groups types you created that you kept?
