"Temporary Password" automatically expires after 72 hours

Hello, had a question that im stuck on for the temporary password to automatically expire after 72 hours after the new user has been sent their passwords to log in & would have to request a new one since it expired if its after 72 hours. I tried going into the system property "password_reset.request" and no luck there. anyone know how this would be accomplished? thanks in advance
