RITM Catalog Item Change through flow designer

Currently, for certain catalog items where Flow Designer has been implemented, changing the item in an existing request successfully updates the item. However, the corresponding approvers are not added, and the details are not updated in the RITM.

Hello @Bella1418,

@Hemanth M1

As per your requirement, you want the request to be updated with new variables and approvals when a user updates the catalog item — is that correct?

If so, please note that it's not possible to directly update the catalog item within an existing request. The best practice in ServiceNow is to cancel or close the current request and submit a new one with the correct catalog item.

Additionally, it's not possible to update the variables directly based on the updated catalog item. A new request must be submitted with the appropriate details.

Hope this helps!

@Shashank_JainCurrently, in our system, the Workflow Editor is configured such that when an item is changed within a request, new variables are automatically added to the request details. Once these variables are filled in, the approval step is triggered as expected.
