Search by User ID in the Global Search

Hi All,

We have a requirement, where we need to enable search by the User Id in the Global Search, i.e, suppose my user_id is ABC and instead of my name I type ABC in the Global Search, then it should display all the Incidents, Change, Problem, etc whose Created By, Caller, Assigned To is ABC.

Currently, when I am searching by the name of a particular user it is displaying but the same is not the case when is being searched by the user id.

If there is any update on this it would be really helpful.

Hi 

When you search with User ID on Global search it appears, find it in the below screenshot of London instance :-

Check here once in your Application navigator -> Search Groups -> People and Places

This is not the thing which I am asking for, I know this one is available not only for London but also for Kingston.

My question is suppose you are using the global search and when you enter the user_id of a user suppose Omkar Mane is the Name and the User id is OMN. So, if I search OMN in the global search it should display all the records which were created by OMN.

As of now, if you search using your name in the Global Search, you would get all the results, but using user_id it doesn't give the same count of records.

Hi Angshuman,

What you can do is navigate to system definition--> Search Group-->People n palces

Under Text search table select sys_user table

Apply condition as

userId  matches pattern or matches regex "user id exp"

I think this might help you out in your case.
