is the variable readonly?
If it's editable then is it not showing i icon for any reference variable for other catalog items also?
if yes then seems somebody added some CSS to hide it on catalog item page
if it's not showing only for your catalog item variable then check any onLoad catalog client script is using DOM manipulation and hiding it
check below link which talks about using CSS
How to hide reference variable (Information icon) on Catalog items in Service portal

The variable is not read-only, also have checked no CSS added.
