Struggling to Get Back IT Assets from Remote Employees | Any Suggestions or Integrations?

As listed in the title, we’re running into consistent challenges recovering IT assets from remote and hybrid employees during offboarding. We’re using ServiceNow for our offboarding workflows, but there seem to be some gaps when it comes to physical asset recovery (unless I'm just missing something). Not sure if anything exists to address this, but here are a few pain points we’re trying to solve:

 

• Can you trigger asset return tasks automatically during offboarding?
• Can ServiceNow send shipping instructions or labels directly to the employee?
• How are you handling asset retrieval for fully remote or field-based employees?

 

We’d love to hear how others are approaching this in ServiceNow so we can spend less time manually managing and coordinating asset returns. Thank you ahead of time!

We built an app in the ServiceNow Store called ReadyCloud IT Asset Retrieval that solves this exact problem and removes the need to send boxes or labels. It integrates directly with your offboarding workflow and automatically sends departing employees a QR code when an offboarding event is triggered. They simply drop off their equipment at any UPS Store, and UPS handles the packing and shipping.
