We are working on implementing the Test Management plugin and I had a question. I notice that if I create a Test Plan, add Test Cases and select "Notify Tester" I am then unable to get any test cases added to show up for the added test takers. An example: Say I had a test plan that has the same test case assigned to 5 different people. I then selected "Notify Tester" and those 5 people are notified and they start working on the test. I then get an email that says someone wants John Doe to also take the same test that I just sent out. I go into the Test Plan, add the 6th test case and assign it to John Doe. I can't find a way to notify John Doe of the test and have the test added to John's "My Test" . The only way I can currently get it to work is cancel the test execution and then click "Notify Tester" again but this seems to reset everyone else's test and send out the duplicate notifications which will confuse the first 5 people. Am I missing something simple or is this just by design? Thanks in advance for your help!

HI Lucas,
Normally, once you add new Test Case to a Test Plan in progress, when you set a new assignee for this added test case - someone who has not been involved in that test plan - there should be OOB business rules in place to create assessment/notify the new tester on their assessments without cancelling the test execution.
You can verify the email notification to the added assignee by checking them under System Logs -> Emails
provided you use the notifications of Test Management about new assessment instances.
Please let me know if this helped.
Best regards,
Andras

Andras,
Thanks for your reply! It doesn't seem to be behaving the way it should. I tried again and it's not triggering the items to show up under "My Tests" or sending a notification. I confirmed in the email logs and nada. I skimmed through the business rules that were not active and didn't see anything related to this. Any other ideas to why it might not be working?

HI Lucas,
Thanks for your reply.
Just to make sure we are on the same page I give some more details around the scenario I outlined above based on your question,
which works in my Geneva instance.
We have a Test Plan which is being executed with one or more testers who already got their assessment instance to fill out.
I outline 2 scenarios of adding new testers to it:
Scenario 1 - Add a new Test Case to the Plan and assigning it to a new tester who has not been involved yet
Here as I see the trigger to create the Assessment record is to assign the new tester to the new test case created,
this action runs some business rules and the Assessment instance gets created for the tester.
It is expected to see notification to be sent under System Logs -> Email and
you need to impersonate the tester to see the their assessment instance under their "My Tests".
Scenario 2 - Add a new Test Case to the Plan and assigning it to a tester who already has assigned Test Case(s) in the same Test Plan
This case my experience is that there is no notification and no new Assessment created, once the added Test Case is assigned, it becomes visible on the same Assessment record which was already sent to the tester.
Please check the above and let me know which scenario does not work.
Best regards,
Andras

Andras,
I am working along the lines of scenario 1 in Istanbual Patch 4. I execute the Test Plan by clicking "Notify Testers". I then add another test case (I do this by going into the test case I want and click "Add to Test Plan"). I then navigate to the Test Plan and assign a user to that test case under the test plan.
In the below screen shot from my my test plan:
I assigned the Test Cases to Jonathan, Lucas and Justin. I then selected "Notify Tester" and the assessments showed up for those 3 users. I then went and added another test case and assigned to Douglas and he never got the assessment to show up in "My Tests". I then added a different Test Case and assigned to Amanda and she also never got the test assessment. I verified the email logs and impersonated both Douglas and Amanda and do not see the assessment. If you have any ideas what I could try I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!
