Unable to request for another user in Portal

Hi,

I created a catalog item that is only accessible to managers. so if a user wants to request, they must go to their managers and only managers can raise a request for them.

 

the issue is when one of the managers selects a user who doesn't have access to the form, they get an error message "Item is unavailable for this user" in (requested for) field and can't submit the form. see attached.

 

Any idea/suggestion?

To solve this:

1- Open the catalog item > Configure > Form Layout, add "Access Type" field to the form.

2- Change the value from "Restricted" to "Delegated". > Save the form.

 

This way only users in "Available For" can request on behalf of unauthorised users to the form.

1. Check if the user is active in the system or not or user roles, groups etc

2. Check if the user has access to that catalogue or not.

the user is active and has itil role, but they don't have access to the catalog item.. the form is available for "managers" group. Only managers can request on behalf of the other users.
