Has anyone tried to use the URL's generated by the copy URL functionality from an MS Office application? At my site, the URL redirects the user to his homepage, and not to the specific item. For instance, I have a link like
https://demo.service-now.com/nav_to.do?uri=change_request.do?sys_id=f3a9e576701a5c00c8e00e2c809b2e04...
to go to a specific change request. When I paste this in the browser it works, and from an email message it works, but not for a word document, excel document or a powerpoint presentation.
We use MS Office 2007. Please let me know your results....
Regards,
Maurice Vliege.

Hi Wesley,
Too bad then... I don't think we can convince Microsoft to change this behaviour in MSOffice 😉
Thanks for your investigations anyway.
Regards, Maurice.

One can always hope 🙂
You are welcome. Hope you find a workaround for it.

Hi,
we have the same issue. If the URL is clicked within any MS Office 2010 application it redirects the user to the homepage but not to the record.
However, at least everything works fine when clicking it in MS Outlook 2010.
I have a ticket with support so hopefully there will be a solution in a future release for this.

Eican,
Have they already acknowledged the bug and created a problem record for it? Or is it just an incident? I was going to log an incident in HI too and I think I will in order to give SNC the understanding that this issue affects multiple customers.

Hi Slava,
yes, they acknowledged the the bug and created a problem ticket.
I didn't receive any information regarding the timeline of its resolution yet.
