User Admin Role - Count Against Admin Licenses?

Duncan Pederse1

Hello,

We want to determine the impact of adding the user_admin role to users. Does this role have anything to do with the System Administrator account? Will it count against the number of admin users we are allowed to have?

Hi @Duncan Pedersen !

No, the user_admin role should not count against the total amount of admin users you may have. This is specific to User Administration and simply allows full access to users, groups, locations, and companies.

Since it is confined to that module, there should be no issue.

Note that there are many other admin-type users such as timecard_admin, knowledge_admin, and workflow_admin.

If you have further questions, you may want to bring them up with your account representative.

Hope that helps!

If it did, please mark as Helpful and consider setting the reply as the Correct Answer to the question, thanks!

Hi Duncan,

You can refer to the below link for the complete detail regarding the Base system roles, including admin and user_admin.

Kindly mark my answer as Correct and Helpful based on the Impact.

Hi,

Yes I saw the docs. I guess the biggest question I would like to know is whether it counts against Admin licenses.

Hi,

Count against "admin" licenses? Is that in your contract? "Admins"?

Normally it's "ITIL" licenses...which Admin contains.

So it's more about at what point does "ITIL" get consumed...that it counts against your licenses.

There's also a side note that if SN queries your instance and it appears other roles "act" like ITIL...then those will count as well, but that's more on a case by case basis and requires a deeper investigation from SN and is usually due to how Sys Admins set up their ACLs, etc.

Anyways, I see you marked someone else's post as Correct, but I wanted to chime in and still mention what I did for future readers because I don't think this is correct in the sense of "Billing"...it may "technically" be correct in that it doesn't count as an "Admin" within the platform...but for billing...it's not about admin.
